1. Morning
(When they awaken, they find that the air is wet and warm. The ground is damp and covered in bumpy roots, soft moss, and low plant life. Trees grow high, obscuring much of the sunlight save the little that can filter through the canopy.
Where did they end up this time?
All around, there's the constant hum of insects. It makes sense considering the kind of atmosphere this place has. Imagine how big the mosquitoes here must be! Actually, you don't even have to imagine because the humming grows louder and louder... or is it actually getting closer and closer? There's a shift in some of the bush and a bladed insect comes charging--
Zip!
From above, an arrow pierces the insect through the middle, pinning it down on the ground. A second arrow soon follows right through the head, killing it.)
Aaaah! (The archer lets out a loud sigh, revealing himself from atop a large root,) Look at the size of that thing.
And there's more where that came from too!
2. Afternoon
(Thanks to plot convenience, they've managed to procure some camping supplies. Ingredients for s'mores, mosquito coils, and some... traps? Wow, what's out here? Okay, yeah, sure, they have some other things too like a tent and some water so they don't really have to worry about necessary things but the only things that matter in this universe are materials you can farm!!!
First things first though, they need to establish their camp which means doing some set up.
- Set up the tent
- Get a fire going
- Set a boundary to keep monsters away
- Collect some Scout Badges?
He wonders if this is why he was brought to this place. He's very much in his element right now, even if it's a lot warmer here than it was back in Sherwood.
He's trying to tackle this shelter situation first. There's a big ol' pile of metal rods and a mass of cloth and a pile of tangled ropes all thrown about on the ground. It looks a lot more complicated than the tents he's used to setting up. This sort of thing is practically a manor!
And of course there are no instructions.
Well, it's nothing he can't handle if he can just figure out what exactly he's making.)
Let's see... (He's managed to find three large pegs that seem to be for the "main" area of the tent. ) Oi, help me look for another one of these.
(A big peg instead of... all of these little ones. How many attachments does this tent need?!)
3. Night
(Night falls on Camp Chaldea. Even if they've set up their traps and repellents for the night, there's still a chance that another insect or boar might wander into the camp so it's best to keep watch. Whoever is on watch can also keep the fire going. It doesn't need to be big given how warm the forest is even at night but it'll keep some of the other wild animals away.
It's Robin's shift and when asked if he'd need a partner, he'd insisted he'd be fine. He didn't mind staying up and he didn't mind being alone. This is nothing he can't handle and if anyone approaches their camp... well, they'll never know what hit them. So rest up already! If you do, he might even let you sleep in a bit before its your turn. Maybe.
He's got this.
So when he sees you up when you aren't supposed to, he waits in the shadows to see if you're going to go back to sleep already. When it becomes obvious that you're not going to do that any time soon, he rolls his eyes and reveals himself from a high branch in a tree to pointedly remark, )
Isn't it past your bed time?
5. ???
( What's up, let me voice test. I have some SUMMER CAMP CHALDEA shenanigans here but I'm down for other scenarios too if you are. As usual, you can hit me up viaeski / eski#9874 / PM. )
morning
At least until Nitocris is finally able to process what he's actually suggesting -- ]
M... M-More?
In that case, we'll have no choice but to fight them. Or at least, I will. A true Pharaoh does not cower before his enemies!
[ Even though that's kind of what Nitocris was just doing, but that's what Ozymandias and Iskandar would say. ]
But first, I'll have to find their nest. Archer, will you join me on this noble quest?
no subject
Heh. Find the nest and wipe them all out, right? (That's the plan? He likes it. Granted, with his arrows, he can only take out so many at a time but with Caster's magic, they could probably destroy the whole thing.) I like it.
I don't know how I feel about any "noble quests" but if it's a hunt you're after, say no more.
(He is, after all, the Hunter of the Forest.)

She had briefly worried that her idea was poorly thought out, or that she had presented it in a manner unbecoming of a pharaoh -- but much to her surprise, Robin is actually agreeing with her.
A big grin spreads across her face as she regains her confidence. ]
...that's right!
It's the only way to stop the enemy from attacking us. Otherwise, they will just keep coming after us. This tactic is how the Kingdom of Egypt finally quashed Nubian ambitions for her territory.
Let us find one that we can follow! That should be the easiest way to discover their hideout.
no subject
Right.
(He adjusts his cloak slightly. If they're going to go on a hunt, he'll have to blend in to catch the enemy by surprise. As for his companion for the day... well,)
I'll take the lead. Can't have you trampling through the trail. (That's the only reason he volunteers to be in the front this time.) I'm no good when it comes to direct fighting so you'll have to cover me from behind if we run into trouble. Should be no problem for a Caster.
(It might be nice if they had someone with them who could charge ahead if they ran into trouble but oh well.)
Maybe we'll run into some other guys, too. Keep an eye out.
(Because they can't be the only ones? Master's gotta be around here somewhere, right? And they'll just start with the direction the original insect had come from. )

[ Nitocris sounds a lot more confident that she feels. All the same, she forces herself to hold her head high as she follows Robin. Nitocris is a Pharaoh, after all. She can't lose face in front of Robin just because his all-too-true comment about her clumsiness hit a sore spot. She wouldn't be able to face Ozymandias, Iskandar or Cleopatra if she did.
So, Nitocris doing her best to stay quiet and not draw too much attention to herself as they march onward. At least until some time later, when she whispers -- ]
U-Um, is it just me or does it seem like that humming is getting louder again...?
no subject
We're getting closer.
(So of course it's going to get louder! But he stops walking, holding up his hand to Nitocris... and the humming increases.)
Scratch that, we aren't the only ones!
(They're getting closer too! And sure enough, a swarm of hornets can be seen up ahead, charging.)
afternoon
[ work faster peasant so he can slap his name on the tent and take credit for it anyway ]
no subject
Well excuse me, your grace.
(Guess who doesn't well with lazy good for nothing nobles? This guy who's whole legend is practically synonymous with heck the rich. )
Are you going to do anything else besides watch us common folk work all day? Or are you just going to stand back and watch?
no subject
Haha! It seems you finally understand what it means to be Pharaoh! By committing yourselves to me and revering my radiant self, I repay you in return with my shining generosity. That is my job as a king and a god. The sun provides the guiding light for those who toil beneath it! If it guidance you seek, I will permit you to ask for such-- [ A beat. ] You are looking for a peg hole on your left side, it is facing away from you. Now you have no excuse to delay. It is boring to watch you struggle.
no subject
(He didn't care about politics when he was alive and he sure doesn't care now. It made no difference to him who was king and who was the rightful one or not. He only knew that he disliked those who took advantage of and profited off of others while the commoners worked and tried to get by.
Overall, he's very unimpressed! And it shows when he waits for Ozymandias to get one with what he has to say and...)
Huh?
(He turns to look towards his left! It takes him a minute to make it out among some of the other parts but he sees one that looks just like the one he wants and he goes to pick it up. It's the piece he needs and he looks back at Ozymandias,)
Then don't just stand there.
(Guess who's tossing a peg right at the good king!)
no subject
Hmph. I suppose I have no other choice, if you are unable to complete the task yourself.
[ Reluctantly helping by putting the peg into place. Ugh. This is such peasant work. ]
If only I could summon my Ramesseum, then this waste of time wouldn't be necessary... But it will have to do.
night
[ In order to disguise the mini heart attack Robin had just inflicted on her - even though she'd known he was on watch and happened to be incredibly good at not being seen when he didn't want to be - Ritsuka fires that off before she has an actual answer to give him.
Of course, she recovers swiftly enough to follow up with-- ]
I can sleep anytime and anywhere!
[ Which. Is true. Sometimes standing up, Mash is very impressed by this. ]

He prefers to keep the higher ground still so he doesn't leave his current post. He can get view of their surroundings from up here and while things might be uneventful right now, should anything change, he wants to see it before it sees them,)
Right, right. So what's got you up this fine night, Master?
(He doesn't mind too much if she's going to be awake but she better not say because she's worried or anything undeserving like that.)
no subject
You know, those humongous bugs are kind of hard to get out of my head... I just wanted to make sure they weren't nocturnal.
And if they are, I'm here for backup!
sorry, had a busy week!
(Is he teasing? Absolutely. But he's also being honest. Who knows what else is out here! It's the whole reason they have these watches set up.)
Well, if you're here to help I won't say no. (And he leans agains the base of the tree, arms crossed and with a smirk,) Are you coming up, master?
no worries, we're in the same boat!
[ She's... definitely not any kind of great tree climber these days, but she did shimmy up branches back when she was young enough to get away with it. This should be doable.
... After some jumping attempts to actually snag the lowest branch, one moment. ]
no subject
(It's not bad. He admires your moxie! And he'll watch for just a little while longer before... leaping down to land next to her. It's easier for him to get down on her level than it is for her to get up on his. The last thing he needs is to worry about her falling out for whatever reason!
... Not that he would let that happen.)
Don't worry about it.
(He was just teasing! He didn't expect her to really do it!)
I was thinking of checking the fire, anyway.
(It's starting to die down! Which is fine, it doesn't need to be big and bright when no one is really using it but they'd been using it to burn some herbs that had been foraged earlier to keep smaller insects away. )
Maybe patrol a bit... it's been pretty quiet so far.
no subject
[ Not too fazed by her tree branch struggles ending before they could truly begin, Ritsuka thrusts a hand into the air. ]
I might as well make myself useful, right?
night
I could not sleep with the thought of wild beasts around. Boars charging into the tent and mauling me...I do not wish to die.
[ As dramatic as it sounds, she is also quite earnest. Death isn't something to take lightly ok!! ]
But I am used to long nights.
no subject
Folding his arms, he leans against the base of the tree and looks down from his perch,)
You know, we've got traps and signals set up on the edge. (Was she around when they were setting them up?) There's no way anything's getting into camp without us noticing first.
But if you can't sleep, you can't sleep.
(Caster isn't the worst company to have. Who wouldn't want a beautiful woman for company? )
Is this your first time camping?
no subject
Oh, yes... I was always afraid I would get lost and die of starvation or exposure, or even worse, ingesting a brain-eating microbe from contaminated water that was not adequately boiled...
[ Going with other Servants afforded her some sense of security, but she can't just turn off her paranoia. ]
You are a man of the woods, are you not? Then surely you know how dangerous the forest can be.
oh god i'm so rusty; night!
point is, elisabeth is out for a walk in the moonlight because god DAMN it's so HOT. ]
Ah! [ she shrieks upon hearing robin's voice and she whips around, growling through an affronted expression: ] Are you trying to look down my dress from so far up there, you stupid green mouse?!
UR GOOD also i am slow hi
Quiet down, down there! (What the heck?!) Do you want us to be found?!
(GOD. And--)
What does that even mean? (Seriously? What does it mean? How's he supposed to look down from above. A beat,) Actually, don't answer that.
Just go back to bed already!
(At least pretend to go to sleep or something so he doesn't have to deal with this.)
