((Halima gives Flayn a scowl! But not the mean sort of scowl... the sort of bossy, no-nonsense, head cook sort of look that shows she understands and she acknowledges Flayn's gratitude but everyone needs to get out of her kitchen if they aren't working.)
He tries to not look too pleased w hen Flayn smiles. Actually, no. He looks very pleased. Almyra is different from Fodlan in many ways but they're similar too. They both enjoy tea even if the method of preparation can differ sometimes. There's tea that is like the kind served in Fodlan but he'd thought this one might be fun. Something small and pleasant to ease her into the differences when he's certain other things might be jarring.)
It's been a few weeks. Almost a month now.
(He takes a sip from his tea and deciding it's sweet enough, he sets the stick to the side on his saucer for now.)
I thought maybe you were injured from your last battle but we couldn't find anything that would make you unconscious for so long. In fact, the healers said your injuries didn't look bad at all...
(Almost as if the battle was longer ago than it actually was, something Claude hadn't corrected at the time. What difference would it make? He didn't know exactly what happened at the battle or how badly she was actually hurt. None of it changed the fact that the injuries she had at the time of inspection weren't severe,)
We could only assume it was some sort of trauma.
(Which still didn't make sense to him but it was the best conclusion they could come up with.)
... Did you know this was going to happen?
(She'd tried to tell him something before she dozed off...)
